From Chaos to Calm: Focusing on Actionable Steps

A person's hands are visible: one typing on a silver laptop and the other writing a checklist with a green pen on a sheet of white paper. When I’m not helping clients streamline their business operations, you’ll usually find me at a pool table 🎱.

I recently spent a week in Las Vegas for the APA World Pool Championship. It was a massive tournament with hundreds of teams, three giant event rooms, and a schedule changing by the hour.

While that level of chaos would make most people panic, I knew I was ready for it. I didn’t have to scramble because I had already mapped out the possible scenarios.

Here’s exactly how that preparation saved my week:

🔀 The Schedule Conflict: I anticipated the overlap and made a contingency plan. By knowing when to play first for one team and last for the other, I managed to be in two places at once.

👚 The Wardrobe Chaos: I dashed to the restrooms for rapid team shirt changes between the 9 AM, 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM rounds.

🔋 The Stamina Drain: Surviving on five hours of sleep, I timed my meals around match times to avoid a crash.

It allowed me to stay calm because the logistics were already solved.

She is holding a pool cue, aligned with the white cue ball on the vibrant blue felt table. The surrounding room is brightly lit, showcasing a clean, high-end billiard setting that emphasizes focus and strategic planning.

The effort paid off, and the Ladies team placed 9th out of 256 teams!

That chaos reminded me that this is simply how my brain works. When I see a messy, overwhelming picture, my instinct is to break it down into predictable outcomes and actionable steps.

Whether you’re navigating a world championship or scaling a business, a solid foundation is everything. When operations are shaky, things slip through the cracks. A clear operational map creates the space to perform. When the background logistics are handled, you can focus on the game in front of you.

Ready to build that same kind of calm within a current workflow or next big idea?

When you’re running a business, the endless to-do lists and behind-the-scenes details can fast-track you straight to feeling completely overwhelmed. But you don’t have to carry it all by yourself, and you definitely shouldn’t have to spend your nights guessing your way through it.

Taking a complicated situation and mapping out the exact, clear path forward is what I do best. Whether you need an extra set of eyes to organize an upcoming launch, or hands-on help untangling a day-to-day project that got too big, too fast, I’m here to take that weight off your shoulders.
